About Concordia University Chicago’s Gerontology Programs

As baby boomers move into retirement and our senior population continues to grow, we are experiencing an increasing for services of our aging population.  Accordingly, the demand for gerontologists continues to grow.

No longer confined to health care, there is a diversity of positions in the field of gerontology.  Career opportunities are also available in retirement communities, professional organizations, business and industry, educational settings, or even federal, state, and local government agencies.

Salaries of gerontologists vary depending on your level of experience, where you are located, and discipline. Beginners commonly start out with a salary between $42,000 and $66,000 and standard yearly salaries reach to $80,000.

At Concordia University Chicago, educators, professionals and students come together in our online format to purse Graduate Certificates or advanced master’s and doctoral degrees in their pursuit to enhance the lives of others.

Classes start every eight weeks and are 100% online for students wanting to receive a degree. Plus, cohorts are small, consisting of no more than 18 eighteen students to make your experience even more personable and collaborative.
